ALL PROGRAMS AND PROJECTS
ALL FREE AND OPEN TO THE PUBLIC
The ongoing programs and projects we support for the community are continuing with even greater community attendance. Our commitment to life-long learning has earned us a reputation for providing quality opportunities. Examples:
The annual Summer Learning Programs at the SFT Library to help prevent the “summer backslide.”
The annual Literacy Project at both Sherrills Ford and Catawba Elementary Schools where all first and second grade students take home a book bag with a book and related items for family activities on a rotating basis, a few times per year.
The annual Family Christmas Event and Santa Visit at the Library, which includes a free book for every child and multiple themed activity stations, and the donation of related books into the County Library System.
The donation of two American Girl Doll Kits into the County Library System, each with a case of accessories and their related books.
Author Events: Authors are invited to discuss the inspirations for their books and to interact with the audience.
The Music Variety Show and other Cultural programs featuring visual artists and musicians are great opportunities for our community.
The purchase of special items for the library, such as the Kawai digital piano in the community room for use by residents, and the outdoor electronic sign.
